The Covenant with Moses- blessings overflow

The Covenant with Moses- blessings overflow

Exodus  ch 19 v4--8  Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
7  And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
8  And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

As we read this word the first thing that strikes us is “ IF you obey my word” This  covenant with Moses and the people that God brought out of Egypt is conditional. Only IF they obey the word of God. The result for the obedience is you will be a special treasure or a peculiar treasure. Some versions say “ you will be my treasured possession above all other people of this world” Oh what a lovely promise it is .
The beauty of this is that God calls Moses to the top of the mountain. It is not that the people are asking favour from God. It is God who out of his own free will giving this blessing.  Three months after the people had come out of Egypt they were camped beneath mount Sinai.

Verse 4 Says I bore you on eagles’ wings.  There is a peculiarity of eagles wings, The young of the eagles are carried on their backs. When they soar high, if a hunter has to shoot the young one it has to be through the older one only. God protected the people like an eagle carrying them safely from Egypt.

A- I will make you a kingdom of priests.
The lord promised them to make them Holy like priests. Even today everyone looks up to a priest as a guide a mentor etc So will the people be blessed like priests. You are a royal priesthood as 1 Peter 2  vs 9 says “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation”. This is the promise for today’s generation.  You have been blessed as  priests in the kingdom of God.

B- It governed their personal lives
The children of Israel promised God that what ever the Lord has spoken they will do. They will keep the covenant of God. Today how are we conducting our lives?
If we obey His voice he will make us a special treasure. He showed the people who were born in Egypt and miraculously brought out. He destroyed the Egyptian army in the sea while His chosen people were brought out safe.  Psalms105 .37 says “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes”
How great is God He had prepared the people so well. They were not feeble The promised land was around the corner . A walk of 40 days if they obeyed. Because of their disobedience and unbelief they walked 40 years around the place and then came to the promised land

Many a time in our lives also we do the same. We do not obey the Word of God. We do not believe in the promises of God. He will bring us out on the wings of an eagle. He will protect us. He sent His Son and Healed our diseases, Removed our pain. Comforted the broken hearted. But do we believe on it.

Dear Friend As you read this today.  May God bless you, Guide you , Protect you . Give you Wisdom and Strength. Healing and Prosperity in your live. Our God reins in our Lives. Bless the Lord Oh My soul and All that is within me bless His Holy name. May His name be lifted high in our lives.

God Bless you

The Covenant with Abraham - blessing overflowing.

The Covenant with Abraham- blessing overflowing

Genesis ch 12 vs 1-3  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2  And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

When we read the above covenant , on e stark difference we see from the earlier ones is that this has no conditions imposed on man, It is totally one sided. Solely dependant on GOD.
“ I will” is the key to this covenant with Abram. Let us look at this a little more

A- I will make you a great Nation.
The promise to Abram of being a big nation. The promise to protect and keep the big nation.
B- I will bless you and make your name great.
This is a personal promise to Abram The bless him and make his name great.
C- And in you all families will be blessed
This is a common blessing to all the families under Abram
Are we a part of this nation of Abram? Are we part of the family of Abram.? Think my dear friend.
We are part of this wonderful promise . We have to do nothing to get this covenant blessing. We have to be part of the family.. How are we part of this family? Today when you look up to Christ. When you feel him as your friend. You ever present help in times of need. All these promises come into our lives.

It is the one purpose of God for us to be , 1) A father of a great nation.  2) To receive personal blessing from God . 3 ) To receive personal honor and reputation  and 4) to be the source of blessing to others.

Today did we get our personal blessing?  Today Are we a blessing to others?

May God bless you and guide you and may you be a blessing to others.

Make someone’s day happy today. Enjoy the peace and happiness which He has given in abundance in our live.

God bless you .
